This week the Supreme Court disappointed those of us who support the 2nd Amendment. They denied to hear the 10 pending 2nd Amendment cases they had before them. This result was surprising considering it only takes four justices to vote to hear a case, and Justices Thomas, Alito, Kavanaugh and Gorsuch had all said it was time to hear a case on gun rights. They were frustrated that states and municipalities, as well as lower courts, were ignoring the decision in Heller v DC from 2008. Why did they refuse to hear any of the ten cases? There are a couple of theories. One is that the four justices couldn't agree which case would be the best to hear. I don't think this is the case and neither does President Trump. I believe it is because the four justices couldn't trust how Chief Justice Roberts would vote. He has been a disappointment, and I believe the justices were afraid if a gun rights case was brought before them, Roberts might rule against the Second Amendment and thus impact the foreseeable future of gun rights. President Trump tweeted, "The recent Supreme Court decisions, not only on DACA, Sanctuary Cities, Census, and others, tell you only one thing, we need NEW JUSTICES of the Supreme Court. If the Radical Left Democrats assume power, your Second Amendment, Right to Life, Secure Borders, and ... Religious Liberty, among many other things, are OVER and GONE!" He also committed to release a new list of judges he would nominate if reelected. We must reelect President Trump to continue to protect our 2A rights!!
