Armed Citizens Protect Minneapolis Businesses Amid Riots

Two men decided to utilize their Second Amendment rights to prevent people from looting nearby stores.

“Basically, you’ve seen the records the cops keep and the cops are a lot less likely to tread on people’s rights when there’s other armed Americans with them. So we figured it’s about damn time – or at least I figure it’s about damn time – for some heavily armed rednecks stood with fellow citizens,” the one man explained.

California Exploits Ammunition Background Checks to Confiscate Guns

Last month, the state Department of Justice mounted “a dozen operations to confiscate firearms and ammunition possessed by owners who failed background checks,” the Sacramento Bee reports. Agents seized 51 firearms, 28,518 rounds of ammunition and more than 120 magazines, and there was more. They also found 116 grams of methamphetamine and a whopping four grams of heroin. No word on whether those who possessed the drugs were part of any legal needle exchange program like the one in San Francisco

Our Bill of Rights and the Second Amendment

The Bill of Rights does not grant rights to the people. The Bill of Rights is the list of the fundamental, inalienable rights, endowed in man by his Creator, that defines what it means to be a free and independent people. These rights exist to ensure that the government governs only with the consent of the people

Fact check: Democrat's bill would increase taxes on firearms and ammunition

Section 803 of Johnson’s H.R. 5717 details the changes that would be made to taxes on firearms and other related items.

It would make pistols, revolvers and other firearms taxable at 30%. Shells and cartridges would be taxable at 50%.

Memorial Day!

The summer of 1984 was the summer following my senior year in high school.  I was just 17 and had not determined any significant opinions about the world. Somehow I talked my parents into sending me to the Soviet Union and England for 2 weeks that summer.  Why?  My girlfriend was going, and it seemed like fun.

1984 was the heart of the cold war, and let's say we weren't necessarily friendly with the Soviet Union.  Also, at that time, Western culture had not made its way to the Soviet Union.  There were no Kentucky Fried Chickens or McDonalds.  Areas of the country were absolutely beautiful, especially around Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), and the ordinary citizens were very friendly.  We were treated better by the Soviet people than we were during our four days in England.  (I was actually spit at in London followed by a comment of "Dirty Americans!")

I recognized, even as a stupid 17 year old whose frontal lobe was not fully developed, the Soviet Union was nothing like the United States.

When we arrived home, I literally had the desire to kiss the ground.  It was then that I truly understood how special it is to live in America.

On this Memorial Day, we owe our greatest gratitude for all who gave their life in protecting this great country.

How Russiagate Began With Obama’s Iran Deal Domestic Spying Campaign

The answer is that Obama saw Flynn as a signal threat to his legacy, which was rooted in his July 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran—the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Flynn had said long before he signed on with the Trump campaign that it was a catastrophe to realign American interests with those of a terror state.

Facts About the 2nd Amendment

Everyone is horrified by the mass shootings in recent decades, but I am still surprised when a gun owner says “I support banning of assault weapons.” It’s important we get our facts and perspective straight and ask the right questions. Most groups define a “mass shooting” as four or more shot in a single incident. Over 90% of the mass-shootings in the US have been with a handgun, and have been gang related.

Armed Citizen® Today

A casual dice game in Hinds County, Miss. took a turn for the worse early on Saturday, April 7. As the game ended at 3 a.m., one of the participants got into his vehicle to leave, when a 16-year-old involved in the game approached the car.

Why Gun Rights Are Essential In a World of Uncertainty and Scarcity

This sobering pill can be difficult for many people to swallow but that's reality. Evil exists in this world. Under the right circumstances, people can and will do unspeakable things to each other as any student of history or psychology will know. Those fortunate to live in gated communities and can afford armed security are often oblivious that most other people do not enjoy the same luxuries.

Discussion of the news of the day!!

Here are my thoughts on some stories I have been following.

Lt. General Michael Flynn - Every American needs to be concerned with what our government did to Lt. General Flynn.  Flynn is just a piece of this story that starts with spying on the Trump campaign to Russian collusion and the ridiculous Mueller investigation to impeachment for obstruction of Congress and abuse of power.  All of it is connected to an effort by the Obama administration to spy on his political opponents.  When the truth is finally revealed, this act will dwarf Watergate.  My only concern is that the parties involved will not face justice.

Fast and Furious - This is another Obama administration scandal that has made its way back in the news for those willing to cover it.  In 2011, the Obama administration allowed over 2,000 guns to "walk" into the hands of criminals in Mexico.  Initially, the ATF tried to say that these guns were sold illegally by dealers in the various border states.  It was initially released that the ATF allowed the guns to get in the hands of the criminals, and they lost track of the guns.  Now, the new President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, is demanding answers on how this was allowed to happen.

Ahmaud Arbery - If looking around a house under construction warrants a person being killed, then Shelley and I have put ourselves at risk many times.  This case is complicated, but I don't think the actions of the McMichaels were justified, and they need to be punished.

Supreme Court/2nd Amendment - I am anxiously awaiting the results of the Court's conference meeting on May 15th where they will possibly decide to hear a 2nd Amendment case.  This would be the first case in 10 years the court would hear.  There are 10 available to be heard and 4 justices have commented that they think the court needs to hear a 2nd amendment case.

Covid 19 - Open everything up!

Embarrassed to be Texan

I wasn't born in Texas, but as the saying goes, I got here as fast as I could.

In fact, I have been here almost 35 years, and I am proud to say I live
in Texas.  However, this week, I was embarrassed.

Texans are very proud, liberty-loving people.  We are very
independent. But to have someone arrested and put in jail for just
trying to open and run her business . . . that goes contra to the Texas way.

It's not surprising to see public officials in California, New York or
New Jersey infringing on people's Constitutional rights, but it isn't
suppose to happen in Texas.

Thankfully, Governor Abbott, Lt. Governor Patrick, Attorney General
Paxton and the Texas Supreme Court all stepped in to correct the
judicial overstepping of Judge Moye'.

If this can happen in Texas, it certainly can happen anywhere.

During this time we have seen our Constitutional rights trampled on.
Our 1st Amendment freedom of religion has been violated as various
churches have been fined for holding worship services.  Our right to
assemble has been violated by the stay-at-home orders and restrictions
being placed on who can gather where.  Finally, the 2nd Amendment has
been violated in many states by forcing gun stores and gun ranges to
close during this time.

This is why the 2nd amendment is so important because it helps
protect all of our other rights.

The 2nd Amendment is not "Moot"

The 2nd Amendment is not moot!!

This past week the Supreme Court determined that the case New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. New York City is moot, meaning having no practical value.  This suit was the first 2A case the court had heard in over a decade, despite states, municipalities and lower courts practically thumbing their noses at the courts ruling in the Heller case in 2008.

Since the city of New York and the state changed the laws slightly since the origination of the case, the court ruled the current case is moot.  However, the underlying issues still existed, and the case needed to be heard.  2A supporters were once again disappointed by the supposedly conservative Chief Justice Roberts.

Justice Alito's dissent argued that the central part of this case, New York City’s “premises license,” is still very much a live constitutional issue.  The issue is what a New Yorker must do to get a "premise license."

The NYC Police Department will only issue a premises license to someone the bureaucracy thinks has a “good moral character.”  Plus residents can only submit their application and fee of $431.50 in person at One Police Plaza.  In addition, an applicant must undergo a police investigation and provide detailed information on past employment, criminal history, health questions and more.  The license, which expires after three years, can be revoked at any time for such things as laminating the license.  If New Yorkers want to continue to possess a gun in the home, the entire process begins again.

This process obviously goes against the "Right to Bear."

The good news is that there are other cases coming up that the court will have an opportunity to hear.
