Discussion of the news of the day!!

Here are my thoughts on some stories I have been following.   Lt. General Michael Flynn - Every American needs to be concerned with what our government did to Lt. General Flynn.  Flynn is just a piece of this story that starts with spying on the Trump campaign to Russian collusion and the ridiculous Mueller investigation to impeachment for obstruction of Congress and abuse of power.  All of it is connected to an effort by the Obama administration to spy on his political opponents.  When the truth is finally revealed, this act will dwarf Watergate.  My only concern is that the parties involved will not face justice.   Fast and Furious - This is another Obama administration scandal that has made its way back in the news for those willing to cover it.  In 2011, the Obama administration allowed over 2,000 guns to "walk" into the hands of criminals in Mexico.  Initially, the ATF tried to say that these guns were sold illegally by dealers in the various border states.  It was initially released that the ATF allowed the guns to get in the hands of the criminals, and they lost track of the guns.  Now, the new President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, is demanding answers on how this was allowed to happen.     Ahmaud Arbery - If looking around a house under construction warrants a person being killed, then Shelley and I have put ourselves at risk many times.  This case is complicated, but I don't think the actions of the McMichaels were justified, and they need to be punished.   Supreme Court/2nd Amendment - I am anxiously awaiting the results of the Court's conference meeting on May 15th where they will possibly decide to hear a 2nd Amendment case.  This would be the first case in 10 years the court would hear.  There are 10 available to be heard and 4 justices have commented that they think the court needs to hear a 2nd amendment case.   Covid 19 - Open everything up!     We are still doing transfers, let us know if we can help you!   Please feel free to forward this email or send others the link to subscribe.

Senator Mike Rounds (R-SD), a champion of our Second Amendment rights, has introduced S 3493, the Protect Our Military Families' 2nd Amendment Rights Act. How gun control advocates plan to make Texas a top political priority in 2020 Gun control advocates are gearing up to make Texas their top political battleground in November. Everytown for Gun Safety announced in February that it would spend at least $8 million this election cycle in the state, mainly focusing on U.S. House and state House races. On Monday, the Michael Bloomberg-backed group announced the first round of that spending — a $250,000 digital ad campaign targeting Republicans in five key congressional races. And on Thursday, the group is naming three staffers to help with its Texas campaign, including two veteran Democratic operatives. Trump Justice Department asks for more resources to enforce gun laws As gun sales surge during the coronavirus pandemic, the Justice Department is asking Congress for more enforcement resources — including to confiscate guns from people who shouldn’t legally be able to own them.
