Amid the unrest of 2020, gun sales are soaring like never before. The most important surge in firearm purchases, however, might be in swing states vital to deciding the outcome of this year’s election. A look at gun sales and the demographics of first-time buyers not only reveals a tectonic shift in American culture, it could also be a surefire way of predicting the winning presidential candidate.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has recently changed the manner in which it interprets the statutory and regulatory definition of “handgun,” thereby further limiting the types of firearms eligible for importation. These determinations are not public, so it is difficult for the regulated community to assess and track shifting agency positions.
The first order of business in Castro’s revolution was to disarm the citizens. People ask me, "Why haven’t the Cubans overthrown the Castros?"
