Things Just Got Real! - The Death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg

Things just got real!

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, who served on the Supreme Court since 1993, passed away at the age of 87. She consistently ruled with the liberal side of the court, and in the 2000 case Gore v Bush, she famously wrote “I dissent” instead of the traditional “I respectively dissent."

It has been no secret that her seat would most likely be the next one to be open, but I wasn’t sure it would be in this term or the next. I really thought she was determined to make it until there was a switch in control of the White House.

She proved to be very strong and resilient as she has battled health problems for the last several years. I think if it had been a Democrat president, she would have retired but you have to give her credit for her determination and commitment.

Now the conversation has turned to when the opening will be filled. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the President have called for a replacement before the election. Senator Ted Cruz has also said that we could have a crisis if we go into the election with a 4-4 court.

If this election goes to the Supreme Court, much like the 2000 Bush/Gore election, we could be in trouble.

Can the seat be filled prior to the election? I don’t see how, but since the President has been maintaining a list, he could send a nomination to the senate as early as next week.

The Democrats will do everything they can to fight and delay. I don’t know if I would want to be that nominee based on what Justice Kavanaugh went through. I think this process could be even worse because this nominee can shift the balance of the court.

The President has announced that the nominee will be a woman. A woman nominee will put the Democrats in an interesting position as they try to determine how to destroy this judge. The Democrats will reveal their true colors about how they really feel about women.

If we didn’t have enough evidence about the importance of this election, this vacant Supreme Court seat has just elevated it. Also, our control of the Senate is also at stake, so we need to get everyone out to vote RED.

Our 2nd Amendment rights are in serious jeopardy. If we lose the election and the Supreme Court, they will come for our guns.

It is important to get out to vote and get all of our gun-loving friends and family to vote as well.

Biden pushes gun control less than 24 hours after attempted assassination on deputies

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Sunday called for gun control less than 24 hours after two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies who were critically wounded in Compton after a gunman opened fire on their squad car in an apparent ambush.

Pavlich: Biden is still out of touch on gun control

Endorsing confiscation of lawfully purchased firearms, including the AR-15, is not support of the Second Amendment. With record numbers of new gun owners, continuing civil unrest and failure by Democrats to defend good police while remaining tepid on increased criminality, gun control is a losing issue for the “moderate” Biden campaign.

Biden's Gun Control Claims at Odds With Crime Stats

What about Biden’s claims that the assault weapons ban saved lives?

Since the ban expired in September 2004, murder and overall violent crime rates have fallen. In 2003, the last full year before the law expired, the U.S. murder rate was 5.7 per 100,000 people. The murder rate never returned to that level, and fell to 5.0 per 100,000 people by 2018.

The Fight Over SCOTUS Will Determine The Future Of The 2nd Amendment

If Trump were to lose in November, however, then Chief Justice Roberts won’t be the biggest cause for concern among gun owners. Instead, we could expect an overhaul of the Court itself, with Democrats changing the rules in order to pack the court with anti-gun justices who could render the Second Amendment a dead letter, legally speaking.

9-11 and Never Forget

Nineteen years ago on 9-11-2001, American came together as a nation during a tragic time.

I remember representatives of Congress praying on the steps of the Capitol, and the President quoted Psalm 23 in his nationwide address. Not one protest demanding separation of church and state.

No one called for the defunding of the police but quite the contrary. Images such as this one were everywhere. Our first responders were heroes and celebrated as such.

Every year on the anniversary we see slogans saying "Never Forget," but it sure seems like some have forgotten who our heroes are.

Can we recover? I hope so, but the only way will be at the ballot box.

Guns, the NRA and the Second Amendment are under assault from the left

The promotion of civil unrest and the systematic destruction of neighborhoods and businesses have been permitted with limited consequences under the guise of the First Amendment’s protection of the right to protest. Yet when the case for protecting the Second Amendment couldn’t be stronger to reasonable Americans, the left is yet again trying to weaken it.

Fear Of Biden Gun Control Plans Could Drive Gun Sales Even Higher

Former Vice President Joseph Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris are pushing for an aggressive gun control policy that is making gun makers nervous and having the unintended effect of driving sales to epic proportions.

Americans' Very Right to Keep and Bear Arms Is on the Ballot This Election | Opinion

Democrats will "confiscate your guns and appoint justices who will wipe away your Second Amendment," President Trump warned in his recent acceptance speech for the Republican presidential nomination.

He's right. Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris has promised to use executive orders to ban guns, and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has promised to make former Congressman Beto O'Rourke (D-TX) his gun czar.

A Second Amendment Grade for President Trump So Far

In his most recent State of the Union address, President Donald Trump promised the American people, “So long as I am President, I will always protect your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms.” This was certainly a welcome statement from any elected official, particularly from the nation’s chief executive during a time of unprecedented attacks on the Second Amendment by many local, state, and federal lawmakers.

But how has the President’s first term stacked up against his grand promise?

2020 Gun Sales Have Likely Surpassed All of 2019

The number of new guns purchased in 2020 likely passed the total for 2019 sometime this month. August volume won’t be available for at least another week, although after Small Arms Analytics & Forecasting (SAAF) Chief Economist Jurgen Brauer said in a press release earlier this month—after analyzing July’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) volume—“Our estimates suggest that the market for the first seven months of 2020 now has nearly matched that of the entire year of 2019.”

California Tries to Save Gun Magazine Confiscation Scheme

California Democrats are launching a longshot legal maneuver to protect a gun-control law that a federal appeals court declared unconstitutional.

Levi’s CEO: Second Amendment “Intended Largely For White People”

Levi Strauss president and CEO Chip Bergh has been a vocal proponent of gun control for several years now.

As the saying goes, it’s better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. Unfortunately for Bergh, that’s exactly what he’s done in a new op/ed in which he claims that not only can racial inequality not be solved until we have more gun control, but that the Second Amendment itself is a tool of white supremacy.

Everytown Responds to New FBI Data Suggesting Americans Bought 90% More Guns in August Than They Did Last Year

“Due to this surge in gun sales, America’s background check system is completely overwhelmed, meaning that thousands of guns are likely being sold to people who shouldn’t have them,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action.
